Artist duo: Bors & Ritiu

Artist Statement

We, Cristian Bors & Marius Ritiu, work together as an artist duo since 2010, the year which also marks our departure from Romania. During these 5 years we were exploring ideas around movement, travelling and migration. We are transforming our experiences as Eastern European immigrants in a Western European country, into a source of inspiration. As visual artists, we are implying ourselves in our own critique, as if we were characters in our own story. We combine in our art practice social and political turbulence, interdisciplinary crossings, historical heritage and relational aesthetics.

Although our educational background consists of classical sculpture studies, we are constantly busy with exploring other mediums to widen the spectrum of materials that we can work with, based on the needs of a specific project.
